Complete Candidate Guide for Isra University Admission Test (IUAT)
Welcome to your undergraduate journey at Isra University! To help you perform your best and ensure a smooth, stress-free experience on exam day, we have compiled this complete candidate guide. Please read these instructions carefully before arriving at the campus.
The Undergraduate Admission Test (IUAT) is designed to evaluate your reasoning, mathematics, language, and writing capabilities. This page contains all crucial information regarding test structure, required documentation, permitted items, timelines, and safety policies.
The test format differs by campus. Hyderabad Campus conducts a hybrid (computer-based) test, while Karachi & Islamabad Campuses conduct a paper-based test. Please select your campus below to view the correct guidelines.
The Undergraduate Admission Test (IUAT) is a hybrid exam with a total duration of 160 minutes (2 hours and 40 minutes). It is divided into two distinct testing formats:
The Verbal, Quantitative, and Analytical reasoning multiple-choice questions (MCQs) are taken entirely online at our campus computer laboratories.
The thematic essay is completed on physical paper. This section assesses your synthesis, structures, grammar, and writing capability.
| Test Section | Topics Covered | Format | Questions | Marks | Time Allotted |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Quantitative Reasoning | General mathematics, focusing on essential arithmetic, basic algebraic equations, foundational geometry, basic statistics, and practical word problems. | Online on Computer | 25 MCQs | 25 | 50 Minutes |
| Verbal Reasoning | Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary, and English Grammar & Syntax. | Online on Computer | 25 MCQs | 25 | 50 Minutes |
| Analytical Reasoning | Logical thinking, pattern recognition, and analytical deduction. | Online on Computer | 10 MCQs | 10 | 20 Minutes |

| Total | Hybrid | 60 MCQs + 1 Essay | 75 Marks | 160 Minutes (2h 40m) | |
Because the MCQ sections are managed by a central digital system, they are strictly timed. You cannot move on to the next section until the total time for your current section has fully elapsed.
To make your morning as smooth as possible, we recommend packing your test-day bag the night before. Please ensure you have the following items ready:
Print out your Admission Test Slip / Admit Card and read specific guidelines.
Your Original CNIC or B-Form (or any other valid, government-issued photo ID card).
A Blue or Black Ballpoint Pen to write your name, candidate roll number, and signature on your physical essay sheet.
A clean, rigid, and completely blank clipboard is necessary to provide a firm writing surface at your computer terminal.
At least two sharpened lead pencils, high-quality eraser, and a simple pencil sharpener to write and correct your essay.
Stationery tools must be in a transparent plastic pouch. Water bottle must be transparent (remove brand labels).
To ensure a fair and distraction-free testing environment for everyone, certain items are strictly forbidden inside the computer labs and testing halls.
Mobile phones, smartwatches, fitness bands, wireless earbuds, headphones, or any other Bluetooth-enabled devices.
Calculators of any kind are strictly prohibited for Quantitative sections. Books, notebooks, revision notes, or blank sheets are not allowed.
Large backpacks, handbags, or opaque pencil cases must be left outside the examination buildings.
Please plan ahead! While we highly recommend leaving all valuables at home or with your parents/guardians, we understand this is not always possible.
To assist you, the university provides a temporary mobile phone collection counter at the registration desk where you can drop off your phone before entering the examination hall.
To avoid any risk or delay, we strongly advise leaving these expensive devices at home or safely locked in your vehicle.
To ensure you have enough time to check in, deposit your phone, and settle down without feeling rushed, please follow this timeline on the morning of your exam:
Please report to the campus entrance gate at least 50 minutes before your scheduled test time. This will give you plenty of time to clear security, drop off your mobile phone at the registration desk collection counter, and locate your assigned computer lab.
The testing hall doors will close exactly 15 minutes before the exam starts.
Once you are seated at your assigned computer terminal, please verify that your screen, keyboard, and mouse are responsive. If you notice any technical issues, raise your hand immediately so our technical team can assist you before the test begins.
To maintain a completely quiet and focused environment around the computer labs, parents and guardians are kindly requested to wait in our designated campus seating zones (such as the campus cafeteria or green lawns) and will not be permitted to gather near the exam buildings.
When the test officially starts, your invigilator will guide you through the process step-by-step. Here is exactly how your test session will unfold:
